Here's the Justiciary 1 to 10 series:

Here's a publicity,note the "old" covers,they are now redone (2012) as mentioned earlier on this blog.

Finally,here's a Promo Copy that was intended as an issue preceding Atomman # 1 but it never was released.

Finally,we found this other Prono Copy in the vaults of ABP,this one however was prepared for a "guide" project of Atomman adventures featuring vilains and variations/modifications of the series.
Such a "guide" is still a project that ABP is considering but with a different cover if it ever see the light of day.

Here are some of the covers redone in 2012,the second edition is complete now from 1 to 30.

Here is a new poster (2012) of the Justiciary including the Man of Stone.Previous version (below)
didn't show him as a member.

They all appeared in Atomman except for 2 members...Pantherwoman and X-Ray Man;The TwinWasps were the first in Atomman # 6 then The Man of Stone in Atomman #9 and Astro-Flash in # 12 and finally Max in # 16.

Mysteray appeared rather late in the adventures and is now with the Mightiest alongside The Meteroman;The Stoneman;Neutronman (Atomman # 24)and the Shadower (Justiciary # 11)

Atomman Swipe

Al Barrett's inspiration comes mainly from Marvel comics and of course Hulk but we saw other influences with "The Wedding Cover" on this blog.We also saw "Atomman vs The US Army" so here are a few others
although slight variations could lead to other origin for the covers...

To ensure sucsess,Al opted for this "swipe" as his very first issue in September of 2009.

As we can see,it's not always Hulk that is the inspiration,the Fantastic Four is also a favorite of his along with Spider-Man,Iron-Man and Captain America.This is # 27 released in November 2011.

The "swipe" is obvious here once again,tribute to Marvel and the Hulk character,an hommage to the comic books of his childhood. This was released May 2010.

both can be linked to the original one featuring Modok that inspired the character :The Eye.
# 8 and 14 were released:April 2010 and October 2010.

We finish this selection with another great adaptation for # 19 in March 2011;as for the first 10 issues,only
number 1,8,9 and 10 were "swipes",all the others were originals.These are the obvious ones but many other influences can be discovered as the reader stroll down the covers.
Giving his respect to the founders,the idols of his youth.Already 30 issues of Atomman and more in the making...

Atomman # 14 was redone adding more details and so on,first released in October 2010

Number 10 was also redone with proper modifications,originaly released on June 2010

Number 15 was also redone
but in the archives of ABP we discovered a rare alternate cover(in color) so it was intended to be the official one at the time.Only the character of Skrull was kept intact.

Worst/Best Vilains 2

Second part of the Worst/Best vilains of ABP:

We carry on with the leader of a military organisation,El Commandanté.Along with his sidekick,the professor Nimbus he is preparing his evil plan in the shadow using the fantastic creation of his scientist
:the flying plane carrier(seen in Atomman # 28)
He has a sister:Thundra that was introduced in the Justiciary adventures(# 13)He dared risk an attck on
the evil Skrull on Atomman # 29 and 30 that would ensure him a place in history that would envy any other vilain...or will-it be short-lived ?.....

Strange enough,Professor Faustus has yet to appear on a cover...surprisingly he is the mind behind the infamous Crab Creature (Atomman # 8) and also the Dinosaur in later adventures (Special Edition # 4)
Quite an underated vilain that posess the knowledge to manipulate the genetics of mutan animals...we can bet that he has yet come up with his best/worst to date...

We close this segment with the enigmatic Tangler,a strange alien who interfered more than once in the affairs of others for his own amusement and experimentation.His "portal" saved Atomman once (Atomman # 17)but his "experimentation" almost cost his life and the destruction of the whole planet when the Crystal Man was unleashed(See Atomman # 18) We can bet that we'll see more of him in the future...

There are many other vilains coming in the next adventures,Cerebro is one of them that we saw briefly in the Special Edition series (# 10) Lord X from the EARTH 7 series,a character created by Caterson Damon...

Best/Worst Vilains

Here are some of the Best/Worst vilains from ABP:

Let's start with The Eye,at the head of a giant network he is able to control  the weak of mind with his hypnotic powers.In his secret complex laboratory,he is able to come up with amazing machines such as Gort*(see below)...He is without a doubt Atomman's worst ennemy...

Not far behid is Skrull,also at the head of a giant network,he has an army of various servants,soldiers but also scientists working his his secret laboratories.He somehow holds the key to unlock Atomman's secret...

The Vautour is a rescent creation and has yet to show his full potential as a "redoutable" ennemy;this French character spread his wings over the heads of our heroes and cast a dark shadow for their future...

Zardock is also a vilain who has yet showed his full wickness,his army of parasite-like creatures are sure to start havoc in a near future.Yet another character that we might see the light sooner than we think...

Gort is a "creation" of the Eye but also it's own being,a giant ogre with a big appetite for human flesh...he is also the "vessel" for the frail Eye sometimes.This ancient beast will again rise to destroy in a near future.

Not much is known about this little nasty guy but we can assume that we haven't seen all his dirty tricks yet...
This mean character will also be part of the next adventures to come...

Let's close this chapter with this figure from the past,Nero,the crazy emperor.A modern times tyran as it was stipulated,his court is one made of slaves and his servants are tiny powerful robots. Living in a spaceship drifting through the universe this is a dangerous place for anyone to wander....like a spider waiting in his deadly web,beware !
